On Medication Again

My second visit to the doctor in less than a week. The prescribed medication didn't work on me very well and yes, i'm not fully recovered as yet. Red and swollen throat, nasal congestion, incessant cough and full body aches. Thankfully the fever didn't come.

So now, this flu robbed me two weeks of holidays. It seems like it will jeopardize my final week of holidays as well. Life can't get any worse. At home, boredom is driving me nuts. I have a number of outdoor activities i haven't got about doing. Oh man...

Notwithstanding, being at home with Daddy and Mummy is pretty fun :) Lots of teasing and laughing.. Probably that's one reason my sore throat doesn't cure. Haha.. In addition to that, i have lots of reading time to spare. None of which is preparation for the new semester though. Lol.

Enough said, hopefully this flu clears up in time in return for my freedom.

Death of Family Friend

He was the man who chauffeured Daddy and Mummy during their wedding. He was the man who watched me grow up. He was the man who constantly spread joy and happiness to the people around him. On 23 July 2009, he was rid of his sufferings and left peacefully. He was 64.

Shortly after grandma's death in December 2008, he was diagnosed with cancer. The cancerous cells were relentless. Within three months, they attacked his lungs and invaded his bloodstream. Just five months and he was no longer with us. It was heartwrenching to see him leave, but at the same time, we were relieved he was finally released from his sufferings.

I then realised how deeply death emphasized the fragility of life. One moment he was there smiling and laughing his heart out. The next moment, he is lying peacefully in the coffin, still and feeble looking.

As i grow older, i hear of more deaths. It signals my closeness to death. Although it is part and parcel of life, sometimes, it's too much to bear.

Just Friday, i caught the infotainment episode of 'I shouldn't be alive 2'. It pained me to watch the final two days of how this 15 year old teenager struggled his way to the Colorado River in Grand Canyon. Each minute, he was inching nearer to his death. Eventually, he dropped dead from heatstroke. It struck me real hard.

Every second that you and i are living is extremely important. There are so many things i have not gone about doing. Composing a song of my own, playing a perfect piano piece, volunteering my time to community work, doing my part for the family... Death may come knocking on my door anytime, as much as yours does. It's inevitable yet frightening. Cherish those around. That's what everyone always say. Sometimes, only when death strikes will people cherish the moment and very soon after, all will be forgotten and back to the routine. That's just human.

Uncle Harry, you will always be remembered for your radiance and warm spirit. Rest in peace.

Sick...

Addicted to badminton recently. Stephie, it's all your fault! Haha.. *Winks* Enjoyed a 2 hour session of badminton with both Stephie and Huiling on Monday morning.

Shortly after i reached home, flu-like symptoms started developing. Despite the sore throat, flu and cough, i was lucky i didn't develop fever. Or that would spell more trouble. Visited the doc on Thursday when the symptoms refused to subside. Fortunately, it was merely the seasonal flu bug.

However, because of me, Sentosa trip had to be cancelled! I'm so sorry, gals. Really very guilty about that. Thankfully, the gals were understanding. :)

At least another two days before i complete my prescribed course of antibiotics. Meanwhile, i'm confined at home. Uber bored...
