Merry Christmas

Today's Christmas!!! Received many well wishes and of course sent out as many. haha... My godsisters came over to my place to celebrate christmas. We exchanged presents. Loved what they gave me. Chocolates, handphone chain and a christmas sock filled with sweets. Then we had turkey, honey ham, roast beef, roast pork and pork ribs accompanied by red wine and sparkle juice. I very guai. I know i underage so i took sparkle juice. In actual fact, i cannot stand the taste of wine. It makes me high and dizzy. haha... not cut out to be a drinker.
After lunch, we watched tv from channel 5, the mtv awards, followed by Miss Teen USA 2005 and finally Pricess Diaries!!! Towards the end of Miss Teen USA, we had to have dinner. All rushed to the kitchen, gobbled down our food and rushed to the living room to watch Princess Diaries. Those who were unable to finish the food brought out to the living room to enjoy. haha... it was great fun counting down to the time Princess Diaries was going to be shown. Had a good laugh throughout the entire movie. Mia was such a joke. But loved her to bits. Pretty and sweet. Flawless skin. What more can a girl ask for?
Then my godsisters had to go home and we bade goodbye to one another. Merry Christmas!!!

The Alphabet Sisters

I had just finished reading a book introduced by BY entitled "The Alphabet Sisters" by Monica McInerney. This fiction book was so heartwarming that it made me cry. I believe i used about 10 pieces of tissue. haha...
The storyline was simple to understand. It was about these three sisters who were named Anna, Bett(short for Elizabeth) and Carrie. They grew up performing on stages, having girls' squabbles and joys. With 3 girls living under the same roof, there were bound to be jealousy looming around them. Anna was the oldest, an elegant and pretty girl. Bett was the second, musically talented and the not-so-pretty of the three. Carrie was the youngest, with the best accessories a girl could every ask for, a gorgeous beauty in other words.
As time went by, Bett met a guy called Matthew. Upon meeting Carrie for the first time, Matthew fell in love with her. There was a strong passion growing between them. Eventually, they became a pair. Bett was upset. This led to a big row with the other two sisters. Anna was dragged into it while trying to be the peacemaker. She was hurled insults by her sisters for marrying a guy, Glenn, for money. This incident caused the three of them to separate and lead their own lives.
Three years later, Lola, their beloved grandmother, ordered them to come backto Clare Valley to celebrate her 80th birthday. Having seen that her grand daughters were still ignoring of each other, she decided to come up with another plan. She wrote a musical and wanted her three grand daughters to perform and organise it for her. Eventually they agreed.
Auditions and rehearsals were carried out. The three sisters resolved their unhappiness with each other and were on talking terms again. The big day came where the musical was performed by the folks of Clare Valley. It was quite a success and everybody were galloping with joy.
However, two days after the musical, Anna was diagnosed with lung cancer. After going through serveral rounds of therapy, there was no improvement and she decided to lead her final moments happily in the motel, owned by her parents. The touching scenes here made me sob so hard. That's why i cannot read highly emotional books. They just make me cry.
In the final few weeks, Anna spent much time with her daughter(Ellen), lover, husband, sisters, parents and grandmother. It showed the emotional sides of human beings. The love, care and concern showered over a dying person. As expected, Anna passed away. She wrote a letter before she passed on. I can't remember what was exactly written but it made me use another few sheets of tissue.
And of course, the happy ending a few years after Anna's death. Bett was with Daniel and Carrie was with a baby named Delia (A-B-C-D-E).
Anyway, this is the summarized version of the book. haha... ok. i know it isn't very summarized. But this book is worth remembering. =)

An impromptu outing

After "tennis", i was tired and hungry. My parents saved a half a packet of rice for me and i had it for lunch. Any food that i swallowed was a joy to my groaning stomach. I continued reading my book until my eyelids drooped. Eventually, i fought back the urge to continue on with my book and gave in to my fatigue. I dropped dead on my brother's bed and slept like a log till 4.30pm. (i had my sleep at 3 plus.)
Upon waking up, my parents decided to bring my sis and me out for dinner at Sembawang Shopping Centre(SSC). I changed hurriedly and we headed out together. The weather was still damp accompanied by a slight drizzle. My dad wanted to survey the food centre opposite SSC and was disappointed by the meagre number of stalls selling "what-doesn't-seem-like-tasty" food. So in the end, we still went to the food joint located on the fourth level of SSC. Once again, this is a survey of the food there. Alrite, my family is a bunch of food critics. If the food is nice, we patronise again. If it isn't, sorry, we ain't coming back.
In this case, we said sayonara to the food joint. The food is edible, the coffee is superb. That's all i can say. haha... maybe u will be thinking that we are a bunch of choosy eaters. Probably...
My dad went off for an errand so my mum, sis and i continue "shopping". We bought my sis's school uniform, proceeded to the arcade nearby to let my sis finish her credits left in the card. And there were only 2 miserable credits left. hahaha... she was so pissed off. Who cares about her... so we went down to Guardian. Hmm....my favourite place in the entire building. Why? u may ask. Coz it's my workplace. Haiyo.... haha...
We bought quite alot of stuff there and in the midst of selecting the products, somebody i did not want to see appeared in the store. Shucks!!! I tot ***** was not working on thursdays. What luck?! >.<>
Then went to Giant to buy some daily necessities and proceeded to DIY. Cool... the guy there remembers me. hehe... he even gave my dad a 10% discount for every item bought. wow!!! Thanks dude.
Finally, we left the building. On the way home, daddy drove us to a very popular nasi lemak stall at Chong Pang and bought supper. woo hoo~. More food!!! While waiting for him, there was this sick driver who was practically blind. He drove onto the curb and almost drove into the drain several times. He reversed the car with his wife standing out in the rain, guiding him onto the right track. My mum was getting ready to hit the horn if he ever dare to come any closer to our car. Both my sis and i were giggling away like mad idiots. After 10 minutes or so, daddy drove us home. Home sweet home!!!

A Wasted Trip???

This morning, i met up with my tennis pal, Elina, at Kallang MRT station for a game of tennis. I arrived there half an hour earlier coz i didn't know how long i needed to get there. Luckily i brought along my storybook and took my time reading it.
While waiting, the sky turned dark. I was praying hard that it will not rain. However, my prayers weren't answered. A drizzle turned into a downpour within minutes. By the time Elina and i got to the bus stop opposite the tennis courts, it was too late. The rain was relentless. It pelted down so hard that we couldn't even get to the tennis courts.
We decided to wait for half hour. If the rain continues, then we shall just head back home. Half an hour passed... The rain continued. What to do?... Eventually we separated ways and parted.
An entire morning and afternoon was wasted. But at least i spent 2 hours reading my book and knowing where the Kallang tennis courts were. So the next time i need to go there to practise, i will know how to get to that place. Probably this wasn't a trip wasted after all...

Orchard

Tavelled to Orchard to meet Huei Jing, Hui Ling and Xhi Ween for IAC project. At first, a silence lingered among us even after we settled down at the granite benches outside Far East KFC. It continued on for quite awhile before we finally started discussing. Phew... the awful silence has left us. Thank god for that.
We crapped so much about NS and i learnt of a few more "ghost" stories. And the insides of NS. It's pretty interesting. Anyway, had a great time watching Huei Jing and Xhi Ween throwing insults at each other. It was so humorous. After an hour or so, we completed our intended tasks and proceeded for lunch.
Then we shopped at Taka, actually it was me shopping only. The rest were accompanying me. At least Hui Ling bought something, so i dun feel that bad. Hehe.. shy... thanks people. Too bad soonie wasn't with us. Would have a better time if she was around.
+ bo-ca-li: welcome home!!!
+ shermal: pretty blogskin... good choice just like u choose ur darl. haha
+ soonie: dun overwork urself... must take care
+ sexy-shorts: nice book u intro to me. thanks

My apologies

Yesterday during our bmgt discussion, i admit i was a little... just a little... pissed off. I apologize to shermal, by and soonie for being insisting in my points of view. I'm also truly sorry if i did not accept some of your suggestions. I was just wanting the best out of everything... Anyway, by, ur suggestion on the ABC thingy was good but i didn't know what to fill in for the B part, that's why i opted for shermal's one instead. If there were any misunderstandings, i apologize for everything.... :(
I felt so bad... i was so troubled. In the end, i confided in mummy and she advised me to give and take. I shall do just that. And now, after penning it down, i feel much better.
+Sorry soonie =(
+Sorry shermal =(
+Sorry by =(

Xiaxue's blog

Hmm... just read xiaxue's blog an hour ago. Totally awed by her english standard. Her command of english is far better than mine, excluding the vulgarities placed in some of her entries. I find her blog pretty interesting, with the numerous photos displayed in almost every entry. I wonder how long she took to upload and edit them... Anyway, she's by far the most vocal blogger i've came across. Lived up to her name as Singapore's most popular blogger.
Though many discriminate her, many love her too. I'm somewhere in between. I admire her courage to voice out her thoughts and opinions openly, not afraid of defamation. I will never do such a thing. And as what she said,"why live a non-descript life?". Well, i dun want a life where i'm constantly intruded and spied on. At least a life where people are indifferent to u is my preferred life. I will respect her views as people have different lives and characters. So, i shall not comment on what she said was right or wrong.
Anyway, i spent an hour reading her december entries, another half hour on her media releases. It really fascinates me as to how a blogger can impact so many people...

Study break blues

Though i'm into my third day of my break, my frenz and i haven rested well. From the tonnes of work every project demands, work is endless. I wonder when i can finally have a good break. Even when i'm asleep, i will wake up suddenly, thinking that i left out something important and will immediately see to it to assure myself.
If this continues, before i graduate from poly, i will join Xhi Ween in IMH. And i shall be Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Xhi Ween, pls reserve a place for me. haha... Anyway, i think my frenz are equally stressed out. We slog through the nite till the wee hours of the morning before retiring to our beds.
Later on, we will be discussing our business management project online after 10pm. I hope all goes well and we can complete what is intended to be done in 2-3 hours.
Earlier this morning, went to school to hand in wcom project. After which, proceeded to KAP's Mac's with soonie and by for lunch. Was nearly banged down by the Auxiliary Police van. I think the driver was blind. I'm so big-sized and he can't see me. What about those who are the size of pixies? Furthermore, a police!!! Scared the hell out of me... Luckily soonie pulled me. My heart skipped a beat.
Anyway, fast food for 2 consecutive days. So unhealthy!!! haha... Then we went back to school to carry on our wcom e-learning tutorial. Had a great deal of fun, with shermal taking about changing a new hairstyle next year. And it's 2 weeks before the welcoming of 2006. haha... Left school at 4.30pm as soonie needed to go for practice.
For once in my life, i had to settle my own dinner and i was so troubled about it until i finally bought it. Like a load off my chest. Had chicken rice from the coffeeshop near my house and bought bo bo char char and ice kachang for mummy and babe.
+ Thanks soonie for saving my life ;)

Changing of Blog Skin

Since i didn't join in my class gathering tonite, i finished up the part of the project that i was supposed to do. By that time, it was about 9 pm. Then i was bored. So i decided to change my blogskin. The previous one had some navigation problems which irritated me. Finally i had the time to change it. So i went on a blogskin hunting. Eventually, i found one which i like. It's theme was twinkle twinkle little stars. But i editted some parts to make it a combination of beautiful moments and twinkle stars. After a million years, i added in a tag board, with help from BY.
*Stephie: bon voyage. Enjoy ur trip in Japan!!
*bo-ca-li: why leave without telling me goodbye?? I'm so sad...
*Soonie: Happy Happy Birthday again!! U were super hyper yday nite and todae. What happened?
*Shermal: I long to read a new entry in ur blog. Not seeing u for a day is so difficult for me to pass my time. haha
*VBY: thanks for helping me in the tag board thingy!!!

Busy Schedule

After PBL was done, the tests were just round the corner. I didn't even have the time to take a breather. How i wish i could have a day off and thoroughly enjoy myself. But i believe that will be in another few months' time when the semester comes to an end. Right now, there are more projects on hand to work on. That was why i didn't blog for almost 2 weeks!!!
I'm currently working on my WCOM project which is due on Monday and it's not even half completed!!! I'm going to freak out soon if we can't get the job done by Sunday. I think i have to forgo my class gathering in the night to complete the work on hand. Haiz...
Soonie was just chatting online with me, reminding me to change her link to M18. I changed it so i decided to put in a new entry to escape from my work for a little while. At the same time, i changed BY and Sher's links as well. And it's Soonie's birthday todae. I just sang her a b'dae song and she make a short speech. I asked her how she felt now that she is finally 17.
This was her reply: Still like that lor. With project and stuff. I feel green...

+Happy Birthday Soonie!!!
*Green has recently become the teenage colour.

Newspaper Collection

Today, the six gals gathered at Boon Lay MRT Station to start our day with newspaper collection at the estates nearby. We left the MRT station at about 9.50 am, following our leader, Simon, to blocks 610. We were then further divided into groups of 6-8 to work more efficiently. The six gals, Jerry, Dennis and Yan Fang became a team. Jerry was our team leader and he is one funny chap.
Whenever he spoke, he always had bad news and good news. " The good news is Simon is very impressed with our efficiency. The bad news is he has decided to give us another block. Think it this way. Simon is very impressed..." He repeated that for a couple of times. And he loves jumping around. There was once when he put himself through a small opening which was pretty high (I wonder how he got up there in the first place). And then he leaped down the stairs to the first storey and continued walking with us. There was a path to walk and he didn't want to. He had to act like a monkey. But he's very sporting.
Eventually, we completed 5 blocks after 4.5 hours. It was exhausting. My head felt so heavy and my eyes were so droopy. Anyway, i retired late the previous night and had to wake up early in the morn.
We then proceeded to Jurong Point for our lunch. It was so packed at that time and we waited for a while before getting some seats. And the table was so small, we were cramped to gether. In addition, we were treated to some "soothing" music. The singers at the competition were out of tune and still singing like pros. Omg...
After which, baoyi and i went to Sunplaza and had mini bits. Baoyi and i shared a cup of it and in the end we missed our shuttle bus. Haha... the driver drove off 2 mins before the actual departure time. So we got on the train and headed to Yishun where we caught the shuttle bus again. Upon reaching Sembawang Shopping Centre, i handed out the interviews to my colleagues to fill in. Then, we met up with Ais to update him on all the happenings in school. When i was finally free from all my duties for the day, i bade goodbye to my colleagues and went home with Corine. It was a long long day for me...

A day in Orchard

After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, I finally had the chance to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (GOF). After LMS presentation, Stephie, Yizhen and i went to Lido to catch GOF. We took a pretty long bus ride to Orchard and my left arm was on the verge of breaking with the carrying of my laptop which weighed a million tonnes to me.
Upon reaching Lido, we took the super long escalator, which seemed endless, to the top level of the complex. After purchasing the tickets, we walked around aimlessly. There were no empty seats for the three of us to take our meals. So we stood near the theatre and chatted about the movies that were going air soon. Eventually, we spotted an empty bench and rested our sore arms. After much "discussion", yizhen and i went to Subway and bought 3 sandwiches. They were 6 inches long!!! haha... And we were so lucky to get the final 3 italian loaves. Didn't know how they operate, we were stuped by the questions asked by the lady who was packing the sandwiches for us. In the end, we added all the vegetables, sprinkled with some pepper, some mayo and lots of onion. We were choking with onions while we ate the huge sandwich. We bought Stephie a tuna sandwich, yizhen a trio... sandwich and a club sandwich for myself.
We hurriedly bought two cups of Mountain Dew which spilled over Yizhen's hands. We speculated that ants would be crawling all over her in no time. Then, we smuggled the sandwiches into the theatre as the show was about to start and we didn't have enough time to eat.
GOF was much better than the 3rd movie. There were several scary scenes which shocked the hell out of me. I jumped from my seat twice or thrice. In addition, there were many funny scenes and i loved the way Ron Weasley said "Bloody hell". There's a tune to it. haha... The storyline was about 3 champions (with high will power, intelligent...) from the 3 wizarding schools taking part in the Triwizard tournament. However, Harry was chosen as the 4th champion to take part in the tournament and he won the Triwizard Cup(as expected). They had to undergo 3 dangerous tasks. The first was to collect the golden egg from the dragon's den. The second was to swim deep into the sea to save only one friend (Harry saved 2). An lastly was the maze where they had to find the Triwizard Cup to win the tournament. It was a pity Cedric died under Lord Voldemort's (LV)hands. The Triwizard Cup turned to a port key, teleporting Harry and Cedric to the graveyard where LV was to be reborn. LV tried to kill Harry but failed to do so once again. All these work were done by Peter ( i forgot his name) in an attempt to get Harry killed. He imposed as Mad-eye Moody to get close to Harry. Then another year has passed in Hogwarts. That's about it. It's worth watching.
After GOF, we walked to Taka and i bought some chocolates. And elmo was performing at the atrium of Taka. It dressed as Santa but a thin one... After an hour or so, we departed ways and left for home. Nice day at Orchard.

LMS finale

Had my LMS presentation yesterday. Phew! It's finally over after weeks of endless revision of scripts and rehearsals. Wonder how we fared. Mrs Chin mentioned that the chatroom was too dull but well done overall. So is that an A? I hope so... tough to get an A for IS modules. However, i believe that the all girls' group will get an A. Their role play was so perfect. I wonder how many rehearsals they had before the finale...
For our group's role play, it was about a neglected son who turned to drugs under the influence of a chatroom mate. Xhi Ween surprised me with his dance. It was really nice. He shook his booty and flungs his arms in the air, wow!! haha... He refused to dance during all the rehearsals until the final rehearsal. he must have practiced real hard before the actual role play. Haha... Yizhen looked like she was gonna beat up a person anytime while she acted as Xhi Ween's mum. It was pretty funny. But the slap was too soft. Should have been harder. Couldn't hear a sound from where i was sitting. But our group has put in a great deal of effort. Hooray!!! Cheers!!!
