Today marked the end of ISP. The stress i felt over the past few days had reduced drastically. Thoroughly enjoying this moment right now. Although the common tests are round the corner, my stress level has plunged. Like a richter scale, from a risky 7.8 to a 3.2? lol.. Anyway, i'm glad it's all over and i can finally focus on the approaching tests. My spirits are once again high and rising, free as ever. I enjoyed myself during the presentations today. But i was rather disappointed in my video clip. Compared to the others who did videos as well, i was a far shot from them. I can only take consolation from the fact that this is my first time. Their videos were fabulous. All the transactions and effects flowed so beautifully. Depressing... There were several interesting topics which left a deep impression. For one, there was Eugene's tattooing artist, and of coz, my group's topics. lol.. shermal's pressure for thinness, stephie's busker, dickson's mac and bee's wet market. To be honest, i think all of them did well. Much better than the other groups. TA08 rocks! haha.. oopsie.. That's about it for today's 3hr 20 min lesson. Take care everyone! + All the best to your up and coming common tests! + Thanks to those who were concerned about me these few days when i was feeling depressed!

Headed down town with Stephie to snap some pictures and shoot videos of topics related to our Social Psychology concepts on Thursday. Since it was straight after the lessons, we made our to Wisma to have our "candlelight" lunch. Some casual conversations accompanied with jokes and laughter filled our table. It was a thoroughly enjoyable lunch. And there was this girl who ate till her hands went numb. She was massaging her aching hands after she finished her meal. I believe the prawns were hardy prawns. They seemed to require much of her strength to peel those shell pieces apart from them. This called for her numbness. It was extremely hilarious. I think stephie would agree with me. Right? haha... Anyway, after lunch, we strolled to the underpass where the busker's hideout was. Standing at a spot not too far from him, we took several shots of those kind souls who donated to him. As expected, we received countless stares and glances from those who were entering the underpass and existing from the other side. Another funny incident occurred here. A lady was walking at the underpass and all of a sudden, she tripped. Guess what she tripped over? NOTHING... I couldn't stifle that irresistible laughter of mine. After stephie has somehow completed her part of the project, it was my turn. Haiz... not only did i miss all the opportunities to take good shots, it rained once we were outdoors. Damnz.. what luck am i bringing myself these days? Dejected, we entered Taka and searched for empty seats to rest our aching feet. Ringed Baoyi and Dickson up and chatted for a short while. Trying as hard as we might to get better shots, it was practically impossible. Eventually, we proceeded to Bugis to capture a video of jaywalkers.. Barely 20 mins later, we were sitted in Seiyu's food junction enjoying our cups of fruit juice (i'm drinking myself once again). So i suggested going to Cold Storage for a walk. Stephie grabbed my left arm and walked with me. Seeing her being tired and all, i offered to carry her videocam for her. Omg.. at that instance, i thought of Colin and Kero. Kero: wo men xian zai shi she mo? Colin: ni yao she mo jiu she mo lo... Kero: den boyfriends hao ma? And we were the female version of them. In other words, LESBIANS!! I am the masculine one and stephie's the feminine one. Jeez.. and we carried on walking like this in Cold Storage for about 10 mins with her switching from my left arm to my right arm. To be honest, she was just trying to seep all the warmth from my arms.. lol! It was a childish thinking i had wandering in my pea brain about the lesbians and stuff. haha.. It was a great time hanging out with stephie. I enjoyed it so much. We should paktor more often. lol!

Ever since the school term started, the pressure has been building up. Just barely a month and the mounting pressure is too much for me to take. I am on the verge of breaking down. This has never happened before. All other times, i was able to control and take it in my stride. However, this time, it is totally different. I lack control, something which i was capable of holding on to all this while. Uncomprehensible lectures, tough tutorials, major projects and round the corner common tests are driving me to the wall. I see no light at the end of the tunnel. Everything is a haze, a fog that continuously blinds me, blocking out the light that used to light up the path i walked. How i wish this was all an illusion. An illusion that will fade off in a instance...I badly need some space to breathe. A time to take myself off from this realistic and practical world. Why have studies become the focus to getting a good job in the future? Why has it become the emphasis of today? Has it done any good to students? How about those news articles on students commiting suicide? Hasn't MOE thought of the consequences of pushing students too far? Parents and the government place way too much emphasis on education. At the end of the day, what everyone wants is just that Uni cert to qualify them for a job with a slightly above average pay. Is this worth it? I shall find out...

Another fine year has passed and today is daddy and mummy's special day. It is none other than their wedding anniversary. To date, it will be their 23rd year of marriage. In 2 years' time, they will be celebrating their silver anniversary. How loving... haha... but my siblings and i are supposed to throw a celebration for them.. lol
Since today was a busy day for all of us, we had a feast at a Thai Restaurant yesterday. Sharksfin was the first dish which was served. This was followed on by the main course. Seafood tang hoon, asparagus with scallops, prawn cakes and cod fish... An appetiser, a main course and lastly, it's none other than dessert!!! Bro and babe had coconuts for their dessert. Make them more coconut heads... haha... i had water chesnuts with coconut milk. Mummy had yam paste (or ni).. daddy doesn't take desserts, so he was munching on the prawn cracker placed on every table... haha.. This dinner costs almost $300 but was worth it. It's a special day for daddy and mummy! Bless these two lovebirds with eternity... And i'm waiting for mine to arrive... that magical moment... lol Posted by Lynette at

Kicked off the day with a spinning head due to lack of sleep. With shermal's continuous laughter and jokes, everything just brightened up. Even before the lesson commenced for the day, i was already in the midst of giggling and uncontrollable laughter. Time went by like a turtle waddling in the water. Almost 3hrs had passed and only 3 teams were done with their presentation. Finally it came to our turn. It turned out pretty well, compared to the first ISP presentation that we had a week ago. I had always believed that "hard work pays off". After my part in the presentation, i had this inclination to throw aside my speech lines and talk like the brave souls in the class. No speech but continuous flow of words. How is that possible?!?! Probably they are just born speakers. I am not. Behind the desk jobs suit me best. One-to-one consultation is perhaps the limit i give myself in speaking continuously for more than 5 minutes. This brings me to realise that the conversations i had with people never lasted for more than 15 minutes. And this is inclusive of unwelcoming pauses and awkwardness. I need to do something about this. I ought to... somehow, someday. This flaw of mine has to be eliminated. Perhaps i'm just a (wo)man of few words... PLEASE ENCOURAGE ME TO TALK MORE. ISP A second project came right up shortly after the ISP Presentation. As such, we had no other alternatives but to allocate thursday as out project discussion day. We spent 6 hrs doing the project and managed to complete about 90% of the work. It was good time spent. This was the first time work was productive and there was little fooling around. All were concentrated on their area of work. Bravo! Haha.. Make-up for Vesak Day In polys, the days i dislike most are public holidays. Whenever a public holidays comes by, there will be a need to set aside some time after school hours to complete both lecture and tutorial meant to be carried out for the week. So Tuesday's lessons only ended at 5.30pm and Wednesday's ended at 6.30pm. For three consecutive days, i reached home late. By that time, i would not have any appetite for any dinner and any mood to revise or do any of my tutorials. In addition, i have tennis trainings on Tuesdays. There was practically little time left for revision. The leap from Yr 1 to Yr 2 is like crossing over a gigantic boulder. Perhaps this is one of the few times i cannot adapt to new changes. It was just too much for me. I wonder how i can live pass this semester... It would take great efforts to do well and achieve the dream of a lifetime. Bless us all... + Shermal, dun worry abt ur hair loss. I will apply for u to visit Yun Nan or Beijing 101 for hair growth. =D + Stephie, pls dun ask me to kill u anymore. My heart will ache and i will be arrested for murder.. So try to relax... relax... + Lainee, hope ur throat is no longer painful. Speedy recovery! + Soonie, u will survive!! Haha.. hope time passes fast enuf for u to take up ur driving test! + Baoyi, seldomly see u online and u are getting crazier in school. Dun tell me u got soonie's contagious virus? haha.. + JC frenz, all the best in ur mid-yr exams! Rinee and Libra Kai, both u guys rox!

Kick start the week with a presentation on Social Perceptions. Owing to unpreparedness and unfamiliarity with this topic, i fared pretty badly for my presentation. I can almost guarantee that. Anyway, it was an enjoyable lesson, time well-spent listening to the different experiments carried out by each group. There was this particular group where one of the team members made biased remarks on the dress codes of both genders in Singapore. It was no longer a social perception. Whatever she said was based on her judgment and preferences. There was no logic to what she was rattling on. Being pretty put off by her long 'speech', i intended to switch her off from my mind but to no avail. Don't ask me why, i have no idea. So on she went and finally, she was done. Hurray!! (I know i'm quite bad saying these stuff, i can't help but voice it out. How to be a psychologist if all the viewpoints are so biased?!?!?) Anyway, there were jokes and laughter enveloping the whole room when one group presented a video clip of their "lift dance". They were courageous, i would say. Never would i do such a thing in a lift. A good show put up! Yeah!!

Today's my first training after several weeks of rest. And i was shocked by the number of freshies who joined tennis. 80+ !!! Imagine 80 people playing games of tennis on 3 miserable courts.. How is that possible? As such, i had not much space to train with my frenz. In the end, coach decided to allocate tuesday as our training day. Yay!!! Great! So i can train better then. He's still pestering me to go to the monday group which is totally impossible coz lessons end at 12nn and tennis is at 5pm.. Towards 8pm, coach decided to train the yr 2s. I was already exhausted from the continuous hitting of the balls. And my training was the odd one out.. Jeez.. the rest took turns to strike the balls, 1 set at a time, while i had to do so consecutively for 20+ times. What the... coach tortured me!!! Haha.. but at least that was real training. My poor thighs are aching badly and i dun think i can survive tomorrow's jog. I shall just try to jog for 2km. Geez.. i am going to drop dead any moment. Shall take a good rest in a while's time. =))

It has been a week since i last blogged. This week has been a busy week. Lots of tutorials to be done which has been left untouched except for 1 which was done late yesterday night after coming back from school. I am still planning how to allocate my workload through the week. Gotta come up with a good plan so that there is time for work and play. Yeah! haha... Anyway, lots had occurred throughout this week. As usual, there was lots of laughter going on among the gals. The hottest talk among us is Miss Bunny Swan. Her weird doings and stupidity is humorous. "Harlowwwwwwww~" Poly life is truly the best i had by far. The countless jokes and laughter swarming us really makes my day. Everyday is an interesting day to look forward to.
