Fireworks Display Disappointment

Went out yesterday with a heart full of excitement as this will be my very first time catching the fireworks display. Along with Audrey, Eugene and Chris, we headed over to Suntec City to purchase a gift for Leonard. His b'dae is coming!! haha.. happie b'dae to leonard~ happie b'dae to u~ happie b'dae happie b'dae~ happie b'dae to u~! lol.. After much walking, we finally got him a tee-shirt which he claimed was too big for him. whahah.. sorry sia.. dunno ur size.
We circled the entire Suntec basement before we found Mac and walked in for a rest. My legs were sore from all the walking. Non-stop.. imagine.. As expected there was a b'dae card to pen a few beautiful lines for the b'dae boy. Chris and Eugene were busy disturbing Audrey. It was really funny. I am usually the out-cast among them. Not close so yeah.. I just listen and laugh at their crappy jokes. That's about it. Sad huh? Cos i kinda only joined them in their outings recently so i missed out on the various ocassions they hung out together.
When Leonard arrived, we made our way to Carl's Jr for dinner. I gotta emphasize the size of the burger. 1.5 times the size of a normal burger you buy from Mac. So huge how to finish?! In the end, gave half to Eugene and he made me finish his fries for him. What's the diff? Still have to eat. And he took the bread but gave me the chicken. Dots... In the end, i ate till i was so bloated. Still asked me if i wanted to eat his burger. No man! I didn't finish the fries. haha.. The splitting of the burger into halves was really hilarious. Made a total disaster.
After the heavy dinner, we strolled to Esplanade and waited for the fireworks display to start. Several chinooks and helicopters flew past carrying the singapore flag. Really nice. This was followed by the fighter jets which blasted across the sky. And a little bird followed behind. lol.. As if calling out to the planes to wait for it. In the end, it U-turned and flew off in the other direction. On and on we waited but the fireworks did not explode into the sky. Eventually, there were talks that fireworks can't be viewed from where we were. Had to view it from the National Stadium. Jeez.. our moods hit pit bottom. So we went into esplanade to celebrate Leonard's bdae. He ate his single slice of cheesecake and all were staring at him eating. whaha.. He seemed to enjoy it. So that's good!
Since there were no fireworks and we were exhausted, all of us headed home. yay!! home sweet home..
