Ever since school reopened, i had uncountable occasions of eye irritation. Switching my vision from one place to another would cause pain and it's only after awhile, will the pain then subside. On and off, anytime during the day... After consulting my family doc today, she prescribed me eye lotions for eye lid infection, concluding my sensitive eyes as a family heritage of nasal sensitivity. So it's all linked! My family brews a history of nonsensical illnesses. Lol. So family heritage is the most likely cause of my eye sensitivity. Other suggested causes could either be the upgrading that's taking place in my area, the crazy weather or even prolonged hours in an air-conditioned room. How am i to survive without air conditioning in such humid weathers which spell unpredictability? Furthermore, every room in the school is air-conditioned, am i supposed to listen to my lectures and tutorials out of the room?! Holy cow! Sometimes too much of the good may in turn become bad. Haha.. Fortunately, it isn't some major eye infection which may impair my sight. Thank god. But since this is an on and off sickness, i guess i gotta live with it. It has become a part of me... Ho Ho Ho~

Probably a week since i last posted an entry. Schedule's been tight and there's practically no time left for some leisure. Though i'm supposed to be working on my project now, i hardly have the mood to do so. Late night sleeps, long hours in school and the constant nagging behind my brain on the amount of undone work left me exhausted and totally restless. Everyday, plans for the day flash through my mind time and again, haunting me till bedtime. And the process repeats itself. Having to juggle 3 projects, two of which are due in 2-3 weeks' time, i felt like giving up at times. Just 2 weeks into the school term, i'm feeling the pressure mounting already. What's more the following weeks when common test and exams draw nearer? Sigh~ I truly need a good break. Just one day off my tight schedule would do wonders. When will that day ever come? However, comparing to little Soonie, i guess i'm better off. Final lap of the race before attachment. Go all out and persevere.

"Vandalised heart, raped soul and a torched conscience..." One of the final words recorded by Cho before his massacre in Virginia Tech in US. Probably this name rings a bell to most now - Cho Seung Hui, the South Korean who took away 32 innocent lives before taking his own. The bloodbath was the highest recorded killing in a US school. A school should be a place for learning and safety is deemed as one of the most important aspects the school should take into account. Why had this been possible? In Virginia, kids as young as 12 are able to own guns. This is ridiculous. Is there any difference from Israel or Iraq, where kids can own their own weapons as well? US, a cultured and refined first world society, ought to revise the owing of guns by citizens. Take Singapore for example. There hadn't been any cases of student rampage or in-school killings thus far. And this is so because the Government has been very stringent in its laws in owning weapons. Only authorised personnel are able to own them. Shouldn't US adopt the same policy as well? It will definitely enhance the safety of every US citizens. Back to the Virginia Tech massacre, those University students who were traumatised by this incident would carry with them the fear of going back to school. If i were one of them, i definitely would be. I don't know whether to sympathise with Cho or to be angered with his sardonic actions. People around the world discriminated him, hated him for causing undue hurt and taking away innocent lives. But have they ever spared him a thought? Though i may not be able to understand what went through his mind, i believe events which happened in his life led him to his well-thought out killings. Those writings which carried profanities and distorted views on adults and children must have triggered something in this ticking time bomb to explode. I empathise with the bereaved families and those injured but somehow, i pity Cho. Sigh~

Suddenly the work load starts piling up and there are more to come. Just a week into school, there are numerous stuff to be done before the following week kicks off. Up till now, i am unable to plan a proper schedule to allocate my time wisely. I've decided to cut down on tennis from 3 days to 2 per week but that doesn't seem to help much. Lectures are in the later part of the week whereby my lessons end in the evening. There's literally no time to do my tutorials during the weekdays. Until the semester is over, my weekends are burnt. Projects have started streaming in and soon to come, the stress level will take its peak. Weekly reports are required as of the first day of my school term for one particular module. And i believe integrated projects and the several small scale projects will make me go bonkers as always. School work, tennis, bel's incessant questions to her homework... are beginning to take its toll on me. There always comes a period when i will just crinkle and lose all concentration. That's the period i dread most but i needa overcome it time and again. Studying is stressful. That's why i look forward to my attachment. Though the workload may bear similar weight, at least it is a breather from studying. Right now, lamenting doesn't help. Getting the job done matters most.

My first day of school started out extremely pleasant. Mr. Kam, being my WISP [World Issues in Singapore's Perspective] tutor is the author of the LongMan dictionary series. He's rounded, cute but short, reminding me of a bowling ball. During the first hour, he was giving us an inspirational talk about being successful and all. Only 30 minutes before our dismissal, did he head into the main topic and gave a simple introduction. =.= That's how 2 hours were spent on WISP. Later on, the heavy downpour forced Shermal and i to walk under all shelters while trying to shield ourselves from the sprinkles of rain brought in by the wind. We were partially soaked from the rain and finally found the classroom at ulu Blk 81. We never once had a class there and luckily the classroom was easily found. Lesson wasn't exactly interesting but the tutor, Mr. Teo made up for it. His jokes and weird tuning of his voice were hilarious. Pretty cool but lame guy. Kinda looking forward to his next class. And today, we were thrown with a 1 page report to be submitted next Monday. Grouped with new members whom i barely know, except for Shermal, therefore much interaction is needed to get about doing our assignment. Hopefully everything turns out fine.

What supposed to have been a wonderful weekend to mark the end of the semestral holidays turned out lousy instead. Three displeasing situations occurred which left me utterly angered. Divulging the details wouldn't be a good choice, as i have no intention to discriminate any people here. Incident 1 left me feeling that if one has a favour to ask from others, it doesn't really matter to me if gratitude isn't shown. But please do not question and criticise the working abilities of the helping party. As for incident 2, i have long realised that people come to me just to seek help. Time and again, i may be willing to help but there is a limit to my means. To the extent of borrowing my self-belongings which normally will not be asked, i'm sorry, it's totally out of the question. Ain't people getting more thick skinned now? Lastly, punctuality is one determinant of one's responsibility and how much you care about what's revolving around you. Time waits for no man as the old saying goes. My life is not to be spent waiting for one person for more than an hour everytime. I have more important things to attend to. And furthermore, it's a favour asked from that party to help out. I certainly am unable to understand how irresponsible and thick skinned some people can be. Of course, there are the good too. Probably i've encountered more bad than good thus far. The older i age, more black sheep are in the pack of friends i meet. Sigh~

A supposed outing with my dear Corine was cancelled since Ling can't make it. Since i had already made arrangements with Jun Kai to catch The Sunshine, i made off to Cineleisure in the mid afternoon. Fancy me meeting Jun Kai and Josh [his friend] for the first time. Slightly nervous initially but the outspoken Kai dispelled all my nervousness. They had lunch at LJS and we took the lift up to lvl 6 for our show. The Sunshine started off slightly too complex for comprehension but as it delved deeper into the mission, things cleared up a fair bit. A team of 8 was given the mission uncompleted by the previous team [Icarus I] to send a payload into the big ball of fire. It was meant to bring light back to Earth. As always, things never turn out smoothly and one grievous mistake led to a whole lot of other troubles. Eventually, when the team died down to a miserable four, the story took a twist of fate. A fifth unknown was on board. Who was he? He tried to sabotage the entire mission but failed to do so. However, everyone on board died even though the mission was successful in bringing light back to Earth. Not a happy ending but still, it sent palpitations to my heart now and then. A sci-fic turned thriller turned horror. Oh man, my heart nearly skipped a beat at some scenes. So overall, pretty good. After the movie, we went to the arcade where they gamed. Kai showed me some of his magic tricks which left me fascinated. Up till now, i just can't figure out how he did it though i checked the cards before he did his trick. Haha.. Then it was home! Home's the best.

These two days had been eventful, gathering with different groups of people and catching up with them. Today was no exception. Along with Gor and Bel, we met Stephanie, Jessica and Donald for lunch at NYDC [Wheelock Place]. It was no doubt my first time trying out the dishes at NYDC. Trusting the thumbs up shown on the menu and given the assurance of Stephanie and Jessica ordering the same main course, i settled for Mushroom and Ham Pasta. It was really cheesy but nice. The cheese stretched on, refusing to budge. Yummilicious! Each of us had a plate either with pasta or rice and we ended lunch with desserts. The names allocated to each dessert were pretty interesting. After Jessica ordered her "Jedi Mudster", Gor told the waitress, " Can i have my Grandma is nuts... Seriously please?" We chuckled under our breaths when he showed utter seriousness in making that order. When the waitress left our table, we broke out in laughter. It was hilarious. Lots of chatting took place with Donald and Stephanie sharing their experiences in India and London respectively. Just so great hanging out with them once again after such a long time. Oh, and there was this quite good-looking waiter named Matthew. He's urm.. handsome and tanned. Lol. Adding on to his politeness, it was a plus point to service. Haha.. Hmm.. enough about guys. It was an enjoyable meal. Thanks to Stephanie for the treat! *Huggies*

Happie 19th Birthday Bao Bao!!! <3 It was a wonderful trip out with the gals. Lunched at Secret Recipe and we vowed never to return. The distilled water issue was pissing them off, with Secret Recipe charging 50 cents per 300ml bottle. Wth? Other restaurants serve it FOC and it charges.. kinda weird. Anyway, we had lots of catching up to do, since the last outing we had together as a full group. Jokes and laughter erupted across the table. =) Posted by Lynette at

Finally we are out together as a complete family, being a public holiday. Visited grandma in Bukit Panjang Econ Medicare. Although she has aged quite a fair bit, at an age of 70+ she is still as alert as ever and can even squabble. Lol. Taking the LRT back to CCK amidst some coffee aroma, lunch was next on our plan. Had quite a spread of food as we tried to win over mummy to go Kbox-ing. Giving her incessant protests no hue, we took the lift to the K-box outlet. Sadly, it was packed and the next reservation was only at 2.30pm. That's more than an hr of waiting... In the end, mummy had the last laugh. Haha.. Bought shoes and more shoes. 3 pairs in total, though none of them was mine. So i pampered myself by buying a pair of earrings. Haha.. my couple earrings. A boy and a girl on each side of the ear. Helped Bel buy 2 pairs of earrings of her choice too. Since there was no more business in Lot 1, we headed towards home, stopping at Northpoint for a short while. A fruitful trip out.

My Sunday afternoon was lined up with activities. Met Den at Yishun mrt station and headed to Vivocity together. Caught up with Eric and Daniel in Carl's Jr. before we shopped around and there was a fashion show going on. Wooo~~ Caucasian guys. Haha.. Managed to catch a glimpse or two only since people were filling the second storey of the pathways. Soon, it was 4.20pm and we made our way into the movie theatre with Kin Chin. TMNT was a notch lower than what i expected. Only several scenes were more exciting. There was no climax but Michaelangelo made up for it by stirring up laughters in the audience. Very quickly, the movie ended and we were once again indecisive on where to go. Vivocity is big but there is nothing nice to shop partially cos the items sold are way too expensive. In the end, we walked to the open area and took in the scenery of what lies ahead of us. Sentosa~~~. Such a beautiful sight. And the seawater was sparkling blue. *Melted* Gor came soon after and we made our way to Secret Recipe for dinner. Waited for Teresa to come before we ordered. Dinner was filling with the main course, a drink and desserts. Hope everyone enjoyed the dinner. Right after dinner, Daniel, Teresa, Gor and i went off together. Home sweet home...
