R.E.L.A.T.I.O.N.S.H.I.P

One day, they had a little liking for each other and not long after, both of them are hand in hand, living in their little lovey dovey world, oblivious of everything around them. Few years down the road, u see the guy downing booze [Know why guys have a shorter life span now?] and the girl crying till her tears dry up.
Relationship - A long word, lots of emotions entangled, and more often than not, ends up in heartaches. I'm definitely not speaking from experience but through observations.
I believe many did it in a spur of the moment, having the strong urge to experience the feeling of being in a relationship. Perhaps they ignored the consequences or carried the thought of them lasting forever. And when break-ups are initiated by either party over a series of trivial matters, they have to bear the pain. Worth it?
Although i always console my girlfriends who parted with their boyfriends and vice versa, i really wonder if they had thought it through carefully before stepping into a relationship. From what i know, girls tend to give in their 100% and will usually be at the losing end. Even before getting into a relationship, they are seemingly troubled by the actions of the other party. What's more when they enter into one? *Shrugs*
Seeing more and more of such episodes recurring in my life, i am having second thoughts on being in a relationship. How much i want to, i admit having a phobia of stepping into one. The undue hurt and heartaches suffered.. it's just too much to bear.
Even in this modernised world, the traditional approach still works better on certain issues, like this. And with traditional, i mean scrutinising till u are almost sure that he/she is the right person whom u can live with for life. [That is if u have a dozen to choose from. lol] For those who ain't that fortunate, just grab whoever comes by! Haha, just joking.
It's better to judge, observe and obtain information about him/her from his/her friends before seriously considering to be with that person. Better to be safe than sorry...
