To beat the harsh weather and soon-to-be summer heat, i decided to go for a hair cut. Snip the long frills and get the weight off my "overloaded" head. Into the hair salon i went. An unusually noisy place, not from the blowers nor razors but that of a lady trying to sweet talk her kids. Two little girls were getting their hair cuts with the elder one fidgeting non-stop. Unable to get a glimpse of her, i looked away and focused my attention on the hairdressers' skillful workmanship. The noise grew which captured my attention once again. This time round, i managed to get a full view of the little girl. At a tender young age of perhaps 7 or 8, i suppose she has down syndrome. My heart went out to her. She showed discomfort with the clips on her hair and yanked them off. Halfway through her haircut, she jolted down from her seat and refused to let the hairdresser lay those razors on her hair. She's confused about everything happening around her as much as we are, on her erratic behaviour. I sympathise with the mother for she is most probably in her mid thirties but looked awfully haggard. Stressed out taking care of her elder daughter, i guess. It must have been hard on her. A simple hair cut demanded her full attention. What's more, looking after her daily? For the whole time i was having my hair cut, i silently thanked my parents for giving birth to a healthy me, born with no abnormalities. Flaws and weaknesses aside, i am a blessed child.
