The Leap Years

Another Saturday gone but it was a fruitful one. Caught The Leap Years with Chris, Dave and Eugene. It was a touching romance story which made me tear at two scenes. To not cause confusion, i'm those who tear easily when it comes to touching scenes. So yeah, will not stir up much emotions of those less emotional movie goers, perhaps just a tinging feeling in the heart?

Anyway, the cast were mostly Singaporean artistes and they spoke with great fluency. All the 'k's, 't's, 'ed's and what have you were articulated perfectly. How i wish i can handle English with such a standard. All except Qi Yi Wu's. Haha... His was hmmm... some smattering English there. Oops.

There was an abundance of meaningful statements made throughout the whole movie. Shall list a few which i remembered right below. Songs wise, every song came from Corrinne May's album. Lol. But at least they fit the mood and scenes enacted.

Now for the crux, the story depicted this girl whose birthday fell on the 29th of February. On her 6th birthday, she asked a complete stranger, whom she spotted at Window's Cafe, out for a date. That's where the romance started. Every 29th of February, they would meet at the same time, same place. Obstacles came and go as the years went by until the day of her marriage...

To sum it all, patience reaps rewards. Her reward - a husband. Nice flick.

"Coincidences are God's way of remaining anonymous - Albert Einstein"

"It takes courage to resist falling in love with someone just for the sake of falling in love"

"To have loved is better than not to have loved and been loved before"

"You do not need to gain approval from anyone to love someone"

Right after the movie, we accompanied Chris to get his tennis shoes. Free curry puff for me! Haha, thanks bro! And it was time for some tennis action. That killer headache was back and disabled me from continuing my play. That sucked. Anyway, the rain came an hour or so later. And so, we went for dinner at Hong Kong Cafe located in Thomson.

The food was not bad but it took some weight off my wallet, which doesn't sound good. It was enjoyable. I loved the mango with prawn roll. Yums~. Ice milk tea was nice too. Dinner lasted pretty long. Those dudes refused to ask for the bill. Lol. Crazy peeps.

Fun loving Saturday. That makes a happy me.
