August Rush

11 days since i last blogged. Been busy with all that Uni stuff. It's tormentous.

23 Aug:
In lieu of Daddy and Babe's birthdays, we celebrated it at a nearby coffeeshop. Birthdays are no longer that special to us. It's like any other passing day. Nothing grand nor spectacular. Everyone's just too busy with their own lives.

29 Aug:
Daddy's birthday! Happie Birthday Dearest Daddy!!! Wishing you longevity and everlasting charm. HAHA!

30 Aug:
Met up with my good old buddies. 2 GI Joes and 1 soon-to-be. Kbox :) My favourite. A good avenue to relief stress and enjoy my newfound hobby not too long ago. Haha... Sher was the one who introduced it to me. Thanks gal! Sadly, gotta go home to mug after that. Lots of catching up to do.

31 Aug:
Babe's birthday! Happie Birthday Dearest Darling!!! Love you muacks! Stay pretty and healthy always, baby :)

And yes, back to studies and projects. 9 more weeks and hell's over (for at least a little while)...

Support M5!

This post is specially written to garner some support from all of you!

Currently, all Halls of Residences in NTU are hosting Hall Pageants. Of course, all contestants (i believe) hope to win somehow or rather. Though i'm not one of them, simply because i don't live in Halls, and neither possess the looks nor figure to be one (haha), but my brother does!

It sounds as if i'm selling him... but ya, i am giving him my fullest support as a sister. So, kindly help by supporting him at the following websites:

http://www.hall3-dnd.com/Cyberphunk.html

In the abovementioned website, to vote for M5, there is a need to click on other male contestants, press the down key and hit "Enter". Somehow, it is not possible to scroll down with the help of the mouse.

http://www.quaffs.com/daniellee

As for this website, one must first create an account. It will take less than 3 minutes to do so. After creating an account, enter into the website above and scroll to the bottom where there's a button named "Qool Factor". Click on the "Thumbs up" to vote.

I sincerely thank all of you who have voted for my brother! Very much appreciated!

Mad Rush

Updates have been coming in slow due to the heavy workload in school. Sorry about that.

Just a quick one here. School life's really a mad rush. Weekends are freed for mugging, weekdays are packed with activities.

Stuck to tennis as before. Passion's still burning strong. Haha... In addition to tennis, i may join the Investment Interactive Club as well. Looks interesting. So that's 2 CCAs among the seemingly endless work and projects.

There's even a need to go back to school on Sundays to discuss project matters. Good grace. As such, there's not much time left for leisure other than an occasional outing. Really dead beat. But the adrenaline is still gushing. So, i'm kinda enjoying myself amidst all the hecticness.

Miss the times where i can go out freely and enjoy myself to the max. Miss bao bao, sher, stephie, soonie [i saw you! lol], elaine, dave, chris, eugene, tailun, xing juan, and many many more...

Oh well, shall blog as much as i can during my spare time. Meanwhile, take care everyone!

Life in NTU

Sunday:
On the final day of my post-poly holidays, i met up with Dave, Chris and Eugene to catch Money No Enough 2. It was a heartwarming movie, with lots of ticklish moments. Not bad for a show after a 10-year comeback with overwhelming response from the locals.

It was a bold move to criticise Singaporeans in a homegrown movie, but to a certain extent, it was so true. Singaporeans are too law abiding. Love to complain yet after awhile, the fever dies down and everything is back to normal. We always accept what the Government says eventually.

Throughout the show, it emphasized on two very important points. Firstly, not to lust after greed and secondly, to cherish the deep, unconditional love parents have for their children, to the extent of sacrificing themselves. A touching movie which clearly expressed the hearts of many.

Since the movie was right smacked in between lunch hours, we headed to Fish & Co. immediately after the show. Darn hungry. Yum yum~ The sharkie freeze was so huge and sour. It was perfect for pregnant ladies who feel nauseate during their first two trimesters.

This Week:
Return to school spelt the need to exercise more effort in studying. But not merely in academics. I'm going to enrich my life in Uni. The final lap before i step foot into some living hell for at least the next 10 years to come.

Just the first week but i'm laden with loads of work. A project announced just this week is due in 3 weeks' time. Holy cow... A tutorial took me more than 3 hours to complete. Content wise, what was covered in poly was merely the tip of an iceberg. No wonder we couldn't have an advantage in skipping a year.

And pitting against elites from JCs and other Polys is really exhausting. Competition is extremely intense. Hear them speak and i truly wonder if i made the right choice in going to NTU.

Furthermore, the seminars conducted by Profs are really fast paced. I had problems keeping up with the speed. An adaptability problem which i hope will ease off in the near future.

Bless me. Hopefully i can complete this sonic speed semester smoothly.

Sherlin's 20th Birthday

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
Caught it together with Sher, Lainee and Stephie in celebration with Sher's birthday.

A fairly action packed movie in the first few segments of the show. Upon the discovery of the dragon emperor's empire, exploration works began with Alex and Wilson. Lots of action took place here. Since this was just the beginning of the movie, of course, i naturally expected a climax towards the later parts of the show.

Unfortunately, that didn't happen. The excitement died down as the show progressed. When the dragon emperor revived, he didn't live long enough to match up to the expectations of the viewers. The fight between the explorers and the emperor ensued. Less than 5 minutes into the fight, the broken dagger was pierced into the heart of the emperor and he died. Just like that.

A show that lasted almost two hours ended with an anti-climax. The start of the show brought up the spirits of the viewers, only to be disappointed at the very end. Furthermore, Asian stars received less attention in the show compared to their Western counterparts. That was slightly depressing. In fact, out of the four Asian stars, three died.

Luckily, there were bits of hilarious moments which made up partially for the loss. Overall, it's not too bad, at least to me. Probably a 3 out of 5.

Dinner @ Swensens
Dinner was lip smackingly good, for me. [probably i was just too hungry] The BBQ chicken with pasta which i ordered was yummilicous. Stephie and Sher had pasta while Baobao's was grilled salmon, which she complained wasn't good. That's a girl with a sharp tongue. Soonie joined us but only had desserts.

We entertained ourselves with lots of topics. From the very usual to Soonie's orientation in NTU. SHIT!!! I didn't attend the Welcome Ceremony and missed out on the goodie bag which came with NTU's jacket! *Pulls hair*

Dessert time!
Stephie: Gold Rush.
Sher: Sticky Chewy Chocolate.
Baobao: Merri-mint.
Soonie: Coit Tower.
Me: Mango Madness.

Tasted good. Others always call it a sin eating ice-creams but i never felt that way before. It's a sweet indulgence once in awhile, which wouldn't kill. Perhaps for the beauty conscious, it will. Haha..

Following dinner was a little shopping. That more or less summed up our day. Hope Sher enjoyed her birthday with us. =))

~*HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY SHERLIN!!!*~

Why now?

Joy should have been the word when i read the message. I longed for that sentence 2 years back. Now that i'd earned it, i should be beaming inside out.

But no, i didn't feel that way at all. My heart only registered a wave of guilt and unhappiness. I rationalised and analysed, coming up with various reasons to dispel the notion of that implied meaning. It could very well be circumstances which induced such thoughts. Perhaps it will go away some time.. But i carry the hope that it will not develop beyond what's appropriate.

I'm happy with the current status. For once, i do not welcome changes.

Cruel twist of fate. If only time can rewind or fastforward. Things might have worked out differently. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be.

Sadly, life is like an ongoing film which can never be rewound...
