It was a bright and sunny Saturday morning. For once, i could play tennis without the threat of the rain. And so, i set off happily to school. Halfway into my journey, the most unexpected call came. Grandma lost the will to survive. She was 80. At that instance, a wishful thought came to mind. I would rather it rained and returned me my grandma... In the end, i headed back home and got ready for the wake. Prayers and chantings... Grandma looked peaceful. Many teared but we were consoled that she was finally freed from her sufferings. But the loss of a loved one is no doubt still bitter. At the wake, somehow everyone became closer as compared to every CNY meet-up. Life is such an irony. From the wake, I was surprised by the number of nephews and nieces i had. Time flew by so quickly without our knowledge. It scares me... For the next few months, my world would be a sea of monochrome. And for the very first time, it would be a stay home CNY. Upsetting but necessary to respect the dead. In no time, it will be my turn. True enough, reality is dreadful for every day is a step closer to death. Posted by Lynette at |
