The final chapter of Grandma's life story ended on 17 Dec. How i wished time stood still. At least Grandma is still by our side... 2 hours of non-stop rituals and cymbals clashing. It was ear deafening. A jazz band was also invited to play for Grandma. Their songs touched our hearts. The final piece being "Goodbye My Love"... it tore our hearts apart. Several minutes later, the funeral procession started. We walked a certain distance on socks before boarding the chartered bus to Sin Ming. At the monastery itself, Grandma's coffin was lifted and after another round of rituals, her coffin was pushed into the incinerator. My heart bled. I could no longer control my tears from trickling down my face. That was the ultimate end. The very last time we could get close to Grandma... But i'll always remember her peaceful look when she was placed in the coffin. The entire area where her wake took place and the times we shared will be etched deeply in my mind. Everytime i pass by that area, memories of her wake will start flashing back. I'll always keep you in my heart... Rest in peace Grandma. Posted by Lynette at |
