Cousin Outing

Let's see... I'd known my paternal cousins ever since i learnt to read and write. But, we've never had group outings together. Not even once. How pathetic.

However, after grandma's death, everything changed. Surprisingly, we became much closer. During the wake, all of us bonded really well. And of course after the funeral, we constantly keep in touch with today being our very first cousins outing.

Tang Jie even treated us to kbox. Dug a fortune out of her. Oops. Thanks a lot man! Though this was our first time singing together, we were superbly high. Haha... i simply enjoyed every moment of our kbox session.

On the way home, we couldn't help but discuss on arrangements for the next few outings. Cycling! One of my favourite all-time activity. Paintball war and bowling are added to the to-do list too. Cool. Can't wait for the next meet up. :)

Lunar New Year

A long stay-home weekend was interrupted by my Economics make-up class. More than half the class was not in sight - only a miserable 7 turned up. Well, it was better than none.

Nevertheless, i welcomed the idea of returning back to school on a Saturday. Ages since i last did that after the government announced the 5-day work week policy. Taking in the serenity of the school was pretty refreshing. The atmosphere was tranquil and calm with little signs of activity. I liked that.

Soon after, 2 hours were up and home i went. Glad that i had Donaphan for company till JE.

Very quickly, the clock struck 12 and Saturday was history. Sunday was a busy busy day, having to spring clean the house. I was forced to mop the floors. Not with a mop but a piece of big cloth, kneeling and squatting as i progressed with my cleaning. Geez, i hated that. Not forgetting, reunion dinner! Actually, we have reunion lunches and dinners very often, so it wasn't that much of an excitement. (wonder why that exclamation...)

Unlike the years before, i hid in bro's room working on projects! (this requires exclamation) Quite a tragedy. Anyway, there was nothing much to expect during the first day of new year since we had to stay at home.

Morning came and we had pizza for lunch :) Sweet and spicy drumlets :))) I was influenced by Baobao and in turn, siblings 3 influenced Daddy. Hohoho... Being bored humans, out came the mahjong set. Whahaha! Great fun. Daddy's a pro man. As i'm writing this post, he's having his fun share of mahjong with my uncles again. Haha...

Though this new year was "exceptional", i enjoyed myself still. Hope everyone had a good time paying visits. I hereby wish all Chinese friends a happy and properous 牛 year. Moooo~

HAPPY MOO MOO YEAR!

Steve Jobs

This man has awed me time and again. An incredible man with amazing creations. However, the recent news of his deteriorating health truly saddened me. He is none other than Apple Inc's CEO, Steve Jobs. Below is a 14+ min video of his inspirational speech at Stanford College's Commencement Day in 2005. If there's anything to take away from this video, it's his never-say-die attitude, passion and motivational quotes.

21st Birthday

A supposedly quiet birthday affair turned out to be extraordinarily eventful. No, i wasn't thrown a surprise birthday party at the last minute or showered with numerous gifts. Instead, my family was given two out-of-the-ordinary opportunities to reap good karma.

Quite amazingly, it was the chain of events that occurred from the time we stepped out from our house to the time we reached home. Coincidentally, both occurrences had to do with public transportation. Timing perfection, i would say.

We were riding in the bus to Safra Club for dinner at Eatzi. As we hopped off at our desired stop, a middle-aged lady almost collapsed from the steps of the bus upon alighting. Luckily for her, Daddy was there to grab and carry her off the bus. So heroic! My suave daddy! Haha... Daddy, Mummy and bro tried their utmost best to keep her awake while alleviating her discomfort. Despite several attempts to call the ambulance, she persistently refused and knocked off every few seconds. Laying by the side of the bus bay, she appeared breathless and couldn't even utter a word. We stood around for quite some time until she could muster some strength to jot down her home address. Shortly after, a Malay guy voluntarily offered to chauffeur her home. The heartlander spirit. *Claps*

After this dramatic incident, we strolled over to Safra for dinner. It was superb. Though a subsidiary of Jack's Place, the food was equally delicious. Mama-mia~ Furthermore, from the large glass panes, we were presented with a pool of little kids and their parents frolicking in the water. Picture perfect. Much activity was taking place inside and outside the cafe. I simply loved it.

Since it was my 21st birthday, i ordered a slice of blackforest cake for myself. Lol. And the manageress added a candle to it. How sweet. Of course a birthday is never complete without making birthday wishes. So, i took this opportunity to make not one, but two wishes. Haha...

Right after dinner, we did a little shopping before heading home. Once again, opportunity struck. This time round, a mobile phone was found on one of the empty seats of the bus. I had every intention to call that fellow's friend to get his cellphone back but Daddy decided against it. In the end, he passed it to the bus captain to report as a lost-and-found item. Poor fellow, i hope he have his cellphone back by now.

Anyway, this was the most memorable birthday i've ever spent in my life. Not only did it leave memories for me, but also for my lovely family. It will be etched in my memory for life.

And not forgetting all the birthday blessings i've received. My sincere thanks to all of you. In addition, my dear friends who are giving me presents, i take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks. :)

I'm an official major.

2009 Joke

Just a little something i heard over the radio one fine afternoon...

A little boy placed a $5 bet with his grandpa. If he manages to insert the worm into the hole, his grandpa loses. Grandpa didn't believe his grandson could do it, since the worm was all curled up and slimy.

The boy took out his hairspray and squirted it at the worm till it was stiff and hard. He then inserted the worm into the hole. A surprised grandpa had no choice but to hand over $5 to his grandson.

Immediately, grandpa grabbed the hairspray and disappeared into his room. Several hours later, grandpa emerged from the room and handed the boy $50. The boy was confused for he didn't place any bets with his grandpa after which. Grandpa's reply was, "This $50 is from your grandma."

A "healthy" thought to kick start 2009. Haha... :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
