A supposedly quiet birthday affair turned out to be extraordinarily eventful. No, i wasn't thrown a surprise birthday party at the last minute or showered with numerous gifts. Instead, my family was given two out-of-the-ordinary opportunities to reap good karma. Quite amazingly, it was the chain of events that occurred from the time we stepped out from our house to the time we reached home. Coincidentally, both occurrences had to do with public transportation. Timing perfection, i would say. We were riding in the bus to Safra Club for dinner at Eatzi. As we hopped off at our desired stop, a middle-aged lady almost collapsed from the steps of the bus upon alighting. Luckily for her, Daddy was there to grab and carry her off the bus. So heroic! My suave daddy! Haha... Daddy, Mummy and bro tried their utmost best to keep her awake while alleviating her discomfort. Despite several attempts to call the ambulance, she persistently refused and knocked off every few seconds. Laying by the side of the bus bay, she appeared breathless and couldn't even utter a word. We stood around for quite some time until she could muster some strength to jot down her home address. Shortly after, a Malay guy voluntarily offered to chauffeur her home. The heartlander spirit. *Claps* After this dramatic incident, we strolled over to Safra for dinner. It was superb. Though a subsidiary of Jack's Place, the food was equally delicious. Mama-mia~ Furthermore, from the large glass panes, we were presented with a pool of little kids and their parents frolicking in the water. Picture perfect. Much activity was taking place inside and outside the cafe. I simply loved it. Since it was my 21st birthday, i ordered a slice of blackforest cake for myself. Lol. And the manageress added a candle to it. How sweet. Of course a birthday is never complete without making birthday wishes. So, i took this opportunity to make not one, but two wishes. Haha... Right after dinner, we did a little shopping before heading home. Once again, opportunity struck. This time round, a mobile phone was found on one of the empty seats of the bus. I had every intention to call that fellow's friend to get his cellphone back but Daddy decided against it. In the end, he passed it to the bus captain to report as a lost-and-found item. Poor fellow, i hope he have his cellphone back by now. Anyway, this was the most memorable birthday i've ever spent in my life. Not only did it leave memories for me, but also for my lovely family. It will be etched in my memory for life. And not forgetting all the birthday blessings i've received. My sincere thanks to all of you. In addition, my dear friends who are giving me presents, i take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks. :) I'm an official major. Posted by Lynette at |
