AMK Hub

Day out with Daddy and Mummy. I intruded on their date. Oops..

Anyway, down to AMK Hub after a downpour. Weather was moist but cool. Refreshingly good. Of course, AMK Hub was pretty cold given the weather outside.

We lunched at the foodcourt. Mummy and i behaved like royalty. Daddy did all the ordering and serving while both of us simply ate with each dish he bought. Haha... that's always the case when we are out with Daddy. Such a sweet and lovely man :)

Mummy disapproved of us catching a movie. Just one reason of hers and we had no choice but to give in. The power a mother wields. All the way down to Fair Price to shop for groceries. For some reason or another, we ended up buying lots of vegetables. Carrots, kai lan, asparagus and broccoli. So that's what we gonna have on Labour Day? Holy cow...

As we walked from one aisle to another, my goosebumps surfaced. Damn, it was freaking cold. Yet Daddy was basking happily in his body warmth. There he went teasing me again on being weak. Oh well, can't help it, can i? Up and down, left and right, finally we are out of Fair Price.

Back to Northpoint, Daddy and Mummy bought dinner. Chicken masala, tosai, dessert, popiah~ Yums! Food is and will always be my family's love. And i read this somewhere "The only way to enter a man's heart is through his stomach." Haha.. interesting.

In Town

My closest girlfriends, yet i hadn't met up with them ever since August 2008. This was apart from Soonie whom i coincidentally met before my Econs paper. Told ya, school work stole my life away.

Lunched at Thai Express in Heeren. It was lunch hour yet the restaurant was exceptionally quiet. Weird... Anyway, we caught up over lunch on our mundane lives. Stephie and HL are busy preparing for their exams in June while Soonie and i have just started enjoying our holidays.

By the time lunch was done, we headed over to Cineleisure for a movie. 17 Again :) I suppose girls catch (caught) this show because of Zac Efron. He looked good in the movie with his flat hair. Pretty hilarious, especially Nat who could converse in Elf language and had his entire house filled with warrior ornaments. It's a show for the ladies who love Zac Efron. Guys who accompany their girlfriends will get real jealous when their girls ogle over him. Haha..

Right after the movie, took the train down to NP for tennis. I missed those days where i could play for hours after lessons. So much fun. Nowadays, courts are usually taken up by the younger tennis enthusiasts. Finally, i saw a girl who shared the same enthusiasm as i did back when i was in NP. It was nice to see a reflection of myself in others.

Didn't stay for long. Mummy wanted me home for dinner and her constant naggings for staying out late after tennis were tormenting me. To appease her, i obediently went home...

Star Awards 2009

Little Nyonya shone in a night of glitter and glamour. Its closest competitor, Golden Path bagged several awards too. Still, Little Nyonya was champion despite its failure to secure most of its nominations.

Several surprises...

First was the announcement for the second Best Supporting Actress. Ng Hui deserved it. Her role as Tao Jie was convincing and fabulous :)

Second was a disappointment. Best Actress went to Joanne Peh instead of hot favourite Jeanette Aw. The latter truly deserved the award. I sympathise with her on her loss. Such a waste. Nevertheless, to my family, she's the best and most deserving female artiste for that award.

Third was the final name for Top 10 Most Popular Male Artiste. My holy cow... Henry Thia? Someone must have placed some bets... Pierre Png, Gurmit Singh, Desmond Koh... far more popular than him yet, didn't even have a chance to walk up the stage.

I was surprised Michelle Chia was absent in the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artiste. She had been receiving it for several consecutive years. Must have been really disappointed.

A very typical award ceremony where there are many unexpected surprises. Some are pleasant while others are simply... undeserving. Oh well, judges' decisions. Since 2009's is over, i'm awaiting for the next. Wonder what surprises will be installed the next time round.

My Return

For the past month, school work stole my life away. Apologies for my temporary leave from blogging.

Right now, i'm on a 3-month holiday. No intention to job seek for i rather spend more time with friends and family whom i've more or less neglected for the past few months. Furthermore, this could very well be my last holiday before i go for attachment in Yr 2 and start my career upon graduation. Time flies...

Talking about time, i realised how bad my time management was after a year in NTU. More often than not, i was making up for lost time, cutting back on sleeps to complete my assignments and projects... Towards my semestral exams, it was evident i had little time left for revision.

This time round, i expect my GPA to be lower than last sem. Thanks to the possibly first 'C' grade in my transcript. Ugly it may be but it beats retaking the module. For once, i simply hope and pray i will not fail that module. Expectations set low, prepared for the worst, taking things in my stride. I've lost the drive.

For that, i detest myself at times. I promised myself to work harder this semester. I tried to but i ran out of steam once the projects' deadlines drew near. For several nights, i stayed up beyond 2am working on projects. Sigh...

How nice would it be if i could had the brains of the Rafflesians and the hardworkingness of the Hwa Chong peeps. Their abilities truly amaze me. I can't hold a candle to them. Simply brilliant people.

There i go whining and lamenting again. For the past year, i doubted my abilities time and again. One Uni friend even pointed out my lack of self-confidence. Yeah, i can feel it slipping away from me. Recently, he said this to me, "The reason we are in NTU is because we are equally competent." Thanks dude. But still, i know my limits.

Year 1 officially ended last week. Lots of ups and downs throughout the year. I relish the times i truly enjoyed myself in school. The most memorable project on accounting. Although my group didn't do well, i had no regrets. The learning process was fantastic. Thanks guys.

Year 2 will be a roller coaster ride. Gotta embrace myself for it. Now that i know where my weakness lies, i strive to see improvements in the next few semesters.

Time was my enemy but will never be again...
