My suspicions arose several days ago but i didn't give it much thought until the message came at the most unexpected timing. It unnerved me and i lost my calmness. Not knowing how to handle it and with no help available at that point in time, i had to come up with something. Luckily bro picked up my call and offered me some advice. Thankful for that. Only now did i realise how afraid i was to step into a relationship. Inexperience, lack of self-confidence and the unpredictability of unforeseen circumstances. It is a headache when somebody takes an interest in me. Especially when both are good friends and if things do not work out, it is almost certain the bond shared will never be the same again. Impossible to return to how it was previously. That's when one loses a friend... And i simply hate that feeling. But isn't it more of a headache when nobody likes me? Haha.. how ironic can things get? On one hand, i yearn to have someone who loves me yet on the other hand, i fear for the worst. And that stops me most of the time. Of course, Daddy and Mummy's opinions are very important to me and i do not want to make a wrong choice. Then again, what's right or wrong? It is never easy to justify. Feelings... that's what cause all the perplexity. Oh well... all i can do is be in control of my emotionally tangled up feelings and hope this friendship will not take a turn for the worse. Saturday: Tennis Watched NP alumni and current students play against Levin and his friends. Coach's displayed some good moves despite his age and injuries. Rallied alittle after most of the matches ended. SK delivered a nice shot to my head. Haha.. hurt quite a bit. His welcome gift to me after a year or so. There after, it was dinner :) Sunday: Steamboat, Kbox Posted by Lynette at

Today marks another year of love shared between Daddy and Mummy. 26 years have gone by and more are to come. 4 more years and we are off to Japan! Woo hoo!! Dinner venue: Peach Garden @ Novena Garden I shall let the photos do the talking. Dinner was fabulous. Good food aplenty and the taste was heavenly. Service and ambience were good. Therefore, the price that came with it was equally as fantastic. Lol. The dishes below have far more fanciful names i couldn't remember. Here goes :) Shark's Fin Beef in Red Wine Deep Fried Soon Hock Soft Shell Crab Wasabi Prawns Pig's Shank & Jellyfish Spinach with Scallops Live Prawns in Indonesia Style Beancurd with Crabmeat Chicken and Roasted Pork Chilled Scallop in Pomelo Chicken Cutlet in Coffee Jasmine Rice with Egg (Fried Rice actually) Deep Fried Beancurd Left: Chilled Jelly Royale Glutinous Rice with Ice Cream Happy 26th Wedding Anniversary Daddy & Mummy! A fitful sleep... awakening at the slightest sounds. Time crawled by when one can't get to sleep. Finally it was 6.10am. I jumped out of bed and booted up my laptop. While i sat down waiting for the screen to come alive, i couldn't help but worry about my borderline results. After several clicks, the Degree Audit popped out. My eyes darted around, looking for the one and only module i feared failing. And then, i saw it. STATISTICS & QUANTITATIVE METHODS - D. Holy cow... My heart sank. I allowed the grim reality to sink in before looking at the rest of my results. My very first big fat D. I was almost certain i had to repeat this dreadful module until i saw RESULTS: CLEAR. Huh?? And i thought i had to repeat my module... It was a scare. Or rather, i held a wrong perception all along. Only F grade needed to repeat modules. Phew... But still, i was upset that my GPA plummeted to 3.38 thanks to this big fat D. I fared pretty well for the rest of the modules, only to be ruined by Stats. Haiz... I knew i deserved it for not managing my time well, resulting in insufficient revision. Daddy was sweet. He offered consolation and encouragement. Never once did he put pressure on me. So did Mummy. I felt slightly better yet couldn't withhold blaming myself for such disappointment. But there was no room for regrets and i will never wallow in self pity. It was my doing afterall. A jog/walk to take my mind away from all the unhappiness. I was too preoccupied with the pain in my left foot. The muscle protested every move. Damn. With Daddy's and Mummy's company, my spirits lifted up. Studies... results... are only part of life. There are so many other things worth pursuing and reaching out for. Yes, they are the foundation to a good career but what i truly want is to enjoy the process of everything i do. That way, i'm certain to find happiness. Posted by Lynette at

After a week of rest, i'm back to the courts. Rallied for an hour or so before attempting a doubles match. 2 years since i last played a match. I clearly recalled how panicky and nervous i was beside coach. The first 2 matches were swift and ended with rather humiliating scores. WS & SJ vs J & Ken: 6-1 The 3rd match was more interesting. At least we could rally better without having each serve cut short by faults or net/out balls. The final score was: Ken & SJ vs WS & J: 6-3 Weeee~ Won 2 out of 3 matches. Although we weren't all that good, i was quite happy. It was pretty fun with all that adrenaline rush and seeing the opponents squabbling between each other. Haha :) Posted by Lynette at

A Partyworld session with Dezhi, Pamela and Don on Sunday afternoon. 'One Night in Beijing' and 'Loving You' were terrorizing. Haha... The guys were screeching at the top of their voices, shutting their eyes real tight while trying with great attempt to hit the keys. It was a hilarious sight. Pammie refused to sing with the mic no matter what. I'm almost certain that she being a previous soprano section leader can sing. Haha... 4 hours passed really fast. In no time, it was 7.15pm. Unfortunately, we weren't able to kickstart our English songs medley. It was a pity. But there's always a next time right? :) $16.80 per person. Pretty reasonable considering the package came with chips, fruits and a drink. Although i'm a Kbox member, i gotta say that Partyworld's sound system and microphones are more superior than Kbox's. It is Mother's Day! One of the most celebrated event of the year. However, i was pretty much astounded that quite a number of people do not hold celebrations for their mothers. I'm thankful my family keeps to this tradition of celebrating. BBQ Chicken was too packed and no seats were available. So we made our way to Thai Express. We had a spread. Seriously... there's never insufficient dishes to go around the table. All of us were stuffed after the meal. I loved the tom yam soup especially. It looked so innocent and harmless, yet when i took my first sip, it exploded in my mouth. The spiciness and tinge of sourness mixed together was absolutely perfect. Lip-smackingly good! From appetizers to main courses to desserts... And a free Chiang Mai blended mango drink that came with the membership application. So whoever wanna go Thai Express, call me! Haha... A stroll around Northpoint before we headed home. Relishing the after taste of Thai food. Licks~ ♥ HAPPY MUMMY'S DAY!!! ♥ Posted by Lynette at

Hui Ching suggested a meet-up partially to pass Dave his present. Haha... Asked us out for lunch at Manhattan Fish Market. My all-time favourite grilled Norwegian salmon was no longer the same. What a pity. Nonetheless, it was pretty good. So with a group of guys and Hui Ching meeting up with her bf, i was "forced" to join the guys at PC Bunk. Played 'Left 4 Dead'. It kept me at the edge of my seat. Killing zombies, seeing their limbs and heads flying off, blood splattering all over. It was a gruesome game but oh-so-fun! Haha... I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Sorry to the guys for having to look out for me all the time. I realised what an idiot i was in the game from their comments. Hahaha... Oh well, what to expect from a girl who never played such games before. Right after that, we took a bus down to NP for tennis. Angle shots were superbly fun :) Double rallied with Eugene, Dave and Leonard. Time flew by instantly. The sky darkened and it was time for dinner. All the way down to AMK Hub for tom yam fishmeat soup with rice. Eugene's recommendation. For that, i used up 5 pieces of tissue, choked on the soup in the process and burnt my finger accidentally. Jeez.. so unsightly. But i quite liked the dish. So hot and spicy. Such a challenge. Haha... And that rounded up my Saturday. As of today, i have exactly 3 months of holidays left. :D Posted by Lynette at

First stop: Pammie's house. Helped bake cupcakes for Dezhi. Slightly moist, soft in texture and looked beautifully chocolatey. My first experience in baking, with much help from Pammie. Second stop: Cityhall MRT station. Third stop: Singapore Flyer. Photos will be posted up asap. Posted by Lynette at

You have a need for other people to like and admire you, and yet you tend to be critical of yourself. While you have some personality weaknesses you are generally able to compensate for them. You have considerable unused capacity that you have not turned to your advantage. Disciplined and self-controlled on the outside, you tend to be worrisome and insecure on the inside. At times you have serious doubts as to whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing. You prefer a certain amount of change and variety and become dissatisfied when hemmed in by restrictions and limitations. You also pride yourself as an independent thinker; and do not accept others' statements without satisfactory proof. But you have found it unwise to be too frank in revealing yourself to others. At times you are extroverted, affable, and sociable, while at other times you are introverted, wary, and reserved. Some of your aspirations tend to be rather unrealistic. http://apps.facebook.com/fullpersonalityevalu/quiz/questions Posted by Lynette at

A day before big Dave's birthday. In celebration of this special occasion, we threw him a mini birthday celebration at Marina Square's kbox. The room was decorated with balloons and a birthday banner. Red plastic boards masked the interior design of the walls. But little notice was given to the decor. The focus was on rupturing our lungs. We screeched and yelled at the top of our voices. It was so loud that i could hear our songs from the toilet. Jeez... For once, hell broke loose. Eugene and Chris danced. Haha! A cake was served towards the end of the session with the help of two friendly kbox staff. Mocha flavoured cake. Hopefully Dave enjoyed and liked it. Happy birthday dude! An hour later, i was screened at the community library's door. Said it was necessary for swine flu inspection. Hmmm... i don't see the point by having my IC scanned only. As if that helps? Anyway, borrowed some books to kill time during my 3-month holiday. Woo hoo! 3 months! Into my second week of holidays, i haven't done much except going for tennis and meeting up with friends. Mummy is nagging again. Haha... Oh well, try to stay home more often to accompany her :) My sweetest and loveliest mummy! Posted by Lynette at

![]() An elderly couple took the seats right in front of me. With much difficulty, the elderly man finally sat down with his walking stick still clutched tightly in his hands. His petite wife left her grocery trolley leaning against the pillar near them. Moments later, the elderly woman returned with a large plate of white rice with some side dishes. The couple dug into the rice, leaving the untouched fish at the side. A while later, a pair of weathered and wrinkled hands took to the task of removing the fish bones and sprinkling the small chunks of fish meat on the rice. The elderly man's hand trembled as he lifted the spoonful of rice to his mouth. Bit by bit, the rice reduced... The elderly woman only ate white rice and the vegetables she ordered. The fish meat she sprinkled over the rice was left for her husband. I was deeply touched by the scene unfolding before me. The immense love they had for each other. How lovely would it be if 50 years down the road, my life is as heartwarming as theirs. Taking daily meals with the man you love most and never once getting sick of this routine. Taking his hand in yours and inching forward with each step you take. Finding comfort in the knowledge that he is always by your side, through your ups and downs. Life partner... Given the era they were born in, they could very well have been together through an arranged marriage. That would have made it even more remarkable. Loving a person you barely knew and over the years, feelings developed lasting till today. Somehow, i had this deep longing in my heart, yearning to share it with someone, barely able to contain this happiness with. If only all couples turned out to be as loving as them... how nice... no divorces, no separations, no feuds, no killings... life would have been much more peaceful. Yet when reality sinks in, I know that they are inevitable because we are only human... Posted by Lynette at |
