Loneliness

It is inevitable that loneliness creeps into one's life at some point in time. Too much of it and one tends to get all emotional.

That's exactly how i feel right now. So alone in a crowd of people whom i love. Not receiving the much needed attention from them, all that isolation... Feels like acid ripping apart the heart. A slow, tomentous tear.

I badly lack the courage to face up to it. The adage, "Live and let live". How true. I see no point in upsetting and worrying people whom i love. Why throw them with added hurt and misery when all of which may undoubtedly blow over in perhaps, a few weeks? Even if this takes years, i believe this emotional strain will walk out of me sooner or later.

I think only he understands what i'm going through. He, who had been through it a fair bit, which i never once realised. Now, it's my turn. Or rather, our turns. And together, we silently suffer.

Michael Jackson's Death

A piece of news that shocked the music industry and on a larger scale, the entire world. He, who self proclaimed to be the King of Pop, died in Los Angeles after a cardiac arrest. Till now, the actual cause of his cardiac arrest is still under investigation.

Facebook homepage was flooded with messages to Michael Jackson (MJ) shortly after news broke on MSN homepage. Google HQ panicked and thought hackers were spamming the search engine with 800,000 MJ searches. It was a big hoo-ha.

The only thought that came to mind in that instance was "why are people cherishing him only after death?" Is he worth more in death than when he was alive? And the newspapers answered my doubts. Yes, he might be the next Elvis Presley who founded more fame than he was alive.

People snapping up his CDs in music stores... searching for his songs on youtube and favouriting them... creating new groups and pages in FB for likeminded others to join. I got to admit i'm not a die-hard fan of MJ and do not see the pain his fans face. Rather, i pity MJ himself.

He founded fame, been through many facial surgeries (which resulted in health issues), was alleged a paedophile, carried a US$400 million debt, earned royalties and did concerts just to see himself through. I wonder if he ever felt true happiness in his life.

A famed celebrity whose music will live on for decades or even centuries (i suppose). To some, as long as his music is alive, his soul is still with us.

R.I.P Michael Jackson.

Day out @ Sentosa!

Right after lunch, Stephie, Soonie, Huiling and i took the monorail to Sentosa. Oh.. that Caucasian... Lol.

It was a day of water, sand and fun! Unfortunately, we failed to soak in the sun. Dark clouds threatened rain but it soon cleared up and became fairly cloudy. The sun refused to show itself.

Out from the seawater (which was horribly salty), the cold air made us shiver. Frisbee, monkey playing and sandcastle building which Soonie was adept in.

Bathtime! It was refreshingly good. I disliked the wet sand and stink of saltiness on me. Doubt i will step into beaches for the next few weeks to come.

We walked quite abit and finally reached the long trail of colourful mosaic tile structures. Lots of photo taking. I loved the little Indian boy. So chubby and innocent. Haha...

Ying Ying came along after work and we left Sentosa together. Dinner at Pizzahut. Licks~

Weekend

Saturday:
Night shopping at CWP with Mummy and Babe. It was a quick affair and in no time, we were home. GSS!! I want more! Haha..

Sunday:
It is Father's day! Dinner at BBQ Chicken. A Korean and Western fusion. The dessert 'Pat Bing Soo' is a must try. There are tiny, chewy rice cakes in it - a Korean delicacy. Yummms! Tried lots of main courses cooked differently. Overall, it's a pretty good meal. And i hereby wish all fathers around the world a Happy Father's Day!

Meet Ups

Monday:
A farewell lunch for Pammie who is going to Boston. In fact, she is already on her flight to Boston as i'm typing out this post. Hope all goes well for her and enjoy herself to the fullest. Take care Pammie!

I was intrigued by the spork Pammie showed to me - a combination of fork, spoon and knife. Impressive.

Saw some Adidas clothings that were pretty nice and affordable. Shall head to Velocity for some shopping soon. Haha..

Wednesday:
Lunched at Mos Burger with Bao bao, Stephie and Soonie. It's always so fun with them.

Bao bao settled her birthday gifts shopping and it was my turn. Mua ha ha..

From Taka to Wisma to Isetan to Far East... and i merely bought 3 pieces from GAP. Thanks ladies for your patience. I took a really looooong time trying out the clothes. Haha... Sorry about that.

Shopping was extremely fun but tiring. Soonie and i spotted the necklace from BOF. *Screams!!!* It costs $37. Gu Jun Pyo's love to Geum Jandi... So sweet. Haha..

Anyway, more shopping to do next week. Woo hoo~

Cousins Outing

Siblings three had a great deal of fun with Stephanie in kbox at Cineleisure. By far, it is the best session i've ever had. 5 consecutive songs that got us up and jumping, shaking and dancing to the beat. Stephanie was super duper hilarious with her groovy dance moves. Hahaha!

Camwhoring :)

Following that was dinner at Din Tai Fung (Wisma Atria) with Donald. Delicious but expensive meal.

Hugs? Figure that out.

I nearly did something totally out of character today. Luckily, the restraining forces within me kicked in and held me back.

If i had acted on the spur of the moment by throwing my arms around Weijie, i believe i would have invited unnecessary gossips and unintentionally causing this old friend a "heart attack". It has been a year since i last saw him. All that excitement upon seeing an old friend shredded away my reservations until the final moment where i retracted my arms. Phew..

Had it been a girlfriend of mine, i'm almost certain i would wrap my arms around her. Ladies, beware. Haha.. A welcome hug, that is. No worries. Not a lesbian in the making.

I think i can do just that tomorrow. It requires courage given my reserved personality. But i'll most likely scare my godsis. Lol. If only i was born a westerner... this sort of hugs are shared so much more freely.

Not that i enjoy hugging people. =.= Just the excitement in seeing a person whom i haven't met in year(s) always makes me feel like hugging them. Their presence brings comfort, you see.

That's enough talks about hugs. Time for some TV!

Happenings Around Me

Just completed the series of Boys Before Flowers. And i liked this phrase best "Being born a male does not automatically turn you into a man." So true so true.

Caught sight of the ugliness of humans in two consecutive days. Utterly disgusted. First is a brainless jerk who sees money as his everything. Second is a group of youngsters who display arrogance and attitudes which put me off instantly. I hope i wasn't like that in my younger days.

Sweetest possible returned from HK which i cleanly forgotten about. Shucks. Muacks! Forgive me. I promised to treat you to a meal sometime. Haha...

Lovely godsister is returning from London for good, tomorrow. So happy to have her back in Singapore. We can meet up more often from now on. :)

You are the perfect package. Unfortunately, i can only "watch" you from the sidelines. When will we ever meet again?

At Random

Under my parents' instructions, i had it called off. Glad that it's all over now.

Tennis on Saturday was fun. Or rather, tennis is always fun. Teamed up with Ian (Year 2 junior, i think...) against various opponents. At times, it was inevitable that rallying partners laugh about certain matters on the court. It was obvious his girlfriend didn't like it one bit. Her eyes were burning with fury. I returned her stare several times but broke it off within seconds. I got the message and learnt my lesson. "Never never never laugh around with others' boyfriends. Girls get jealous easily." But at least it showed that she likes him. Shrugs. Well done then, girl.

Sunday was a stay-home family day. Lately, Daddy enjoyed teasing me a lot. I wonder why... For that, he paid back by falling victim to his weakness. In fact, everyone loves teasing me for a reason or two. Can be rather exasperating at times. But it was in the name of fun. So, who cares? Anyway, i'm usually the butt of family jokes. Oh well...
